We are pleased to inform you that the Second German-Armenian Workshop on Telemedicine and eHealth will takeplace on April 13-17, 2015, in Bavaria, Germany. As was previously reported, the workshopsare a part of a project that aims at establishingeducational, scientific and practical collaboration in the field of Healthcare Information and Communication Technologies between Germany’s University Medical Center of Regensburg, Deggendorf Institute of Technology, and telemedicine company Klughammer – on the one side, and Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University, and Armenian Association of Telemedicine – on the other. The project is jointly funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany (BMBF) and the State Committee of Science of Armenia (SCS).
The 2ndWorkshop will feature one full day (on April 13) of presentations devoted to various aspects of telemedicine and eHealth in Germany and Armenia, presented by participants from both countries (at Deggendorf Institute of Technology), as well as visits to several healthcare and technology institutions in Bavaria, such as Regensburg University Hospital, Klughammer, Health Care Bayern, KlinikumIsar in Munich, ADAC (Allgemeine Deutsche Automobil-Club e. V) in Munich, and hospital in Mainkofen. Lastly, the project participants from German and Armenian institutions will have several discussions related to project development and further activities. Armenian partner institutions will be represented by the joint RAU-AATM team of physicians and researcherswho will travel to Bavaria to participate in the Workshop: AATM President Georgi Chaltikyan presenting a report titled “Telemedicine and eHealth in Armenia: History, Current State & Perspectives of Development”, AATM Executive Secretary Tatul Saghatelyan giving a talk on “Telemedicine in Oncology and Radiotherapy: International Experience and Armenian Perspective”, and ААТМ Board Member Alexander Haroyan.

The project, envisaging among other activities, a series of three workshops to be organized over the period of one year (two in Armenia, and one in Germany), will further advance collaboration between the two countries in the field of Healthcare Information and Communication Technologies.
